The 2015-2016 academic year of the “L. Boccherini” Institute of Music will open with a major event on Saturday, November 14th with the Institute’s orchestra in the Boccherini’ Auditorium at Piazza del Suffragio square in Lucca.

The event will start at 5 pm with the presentation of the new issue of the “codice 602” magazine published by Sillabe, full of interesting articles of musicological research, essays and analysis. Afterwards, there will be a concert by the Orchestra dell’Istituto Cittadino conducted by Gian Paolo Mazzoli, who will present a program of music of great appeal and popularity, with the Prelude from Bizet’s Carmen, the prelude from Verdi’s Nabucco and Beethoven third piano concerto (soloist is young pianist Leonardo Macerini).
