The church is a church of the Intercession of Lucca, which is located in the homonymous square.
It is among the few churches built in Lucca from scratch during the seventeenth century.
Erected in 1634, the burial of the dead of the plague of 1630, is the only intervention made at home by Francesco Buonamici.
Of particular interest is the facade, with three orders punctuated by pilasters, which in the lower register enclose three arches that define a vaulted hall which gives access to the church.
The interior has a nave with side chapels, decorated with stucco, was completed in 1675 with the construction of a majestic altar surrounded by four spiral columns and surmounted by a broken pediment decorated with angels, who at the behest of Elisa Baiocchi was donated in the nineteenth century to the Cathedral of Ajaccio, where he remains today.
