The L. Boccherini School produces and promotes intense artistic activity, offering over fifty concerts, operas, and shows with well-known artists, every year. It has rapidly become a reference point for musical culture in Lucca and elsewhere. The season, from March to December every year is called OPEN, an acronym that over and above its inherent meaning, embraces the idea of Guest Artists, Performances, Events, Art Shows, culture and research. The Boccherini OPEN season is continually evolving, a true work in progress, firmly rooted in the musical fabric of the city, an attraction for tourists, the local population and enthusiasts from all over Italy. Through this initiative the School is able to enrich its educational curriculum for students, with Seminaries, and Master- classes held by famous musicians from all over the world, and at the same time offer concerts, single subject festivals ( Guitar Festival, Bass Fest, Viola Fest etc) as well as many other attractions, all without an entrance fee.

PIANO RECITAL
After a September of ‘Open Gold’ events and the first Boccherini Festival, the Boccherini Open concerts for 2016 return. Friday, October 28, at 9 pm, in the L Boccherini Music Institute auditorium, there’s a recital by pianist Lorenzo Manfredi (music by Beethoven, Chopin) and Arianna Tarantino pianist (music by Döhler, Beethoven, Liszt).
