The concert-giving and teaching activities of ‘Boccherini Open 2016’ continue in May with important appointments and a recording of great historical value for the city’s musical traditions. Guest star of the Institute’s open day on May 28th will be Dario Marianelli, a composer who won the Oscar Prize in 2008 for the soundtrack of the film Atonement.
On Friday, May 6th , at 9 pm the Boccherini Institute Orchestra, with soloists Remo Pieri (clarinet) and Tommaso Valenti (viola), will perform Alessandro Rolla’s viola concerto, BI 552 and Marianna Bottini’s clarinet concerto in B flat. The two important Italian nineteenth century pieces will receive their first modern performances and will also be recorded on the Tactus label.
