THE ETYMOS ENSEMBLE OPENS CLUSTER’S SPRING SEASON

With its  2017 Spring Season the Cluster Contemporary Music Association begins its eighth year of existence. During this period Cluster has significantly expanded its horizons by increasing organizational collaboration abroad with the support of Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation. This Spring season sees fourteen events and there will be collaborations, not only with other Italian cities (Trento, Sanremo), but also with important international music centres such as Warsaw and New York. Compositions by fifty cluster members will be premièred. The Spring Season will present, in addition to its contemporary music concerts with Cluster composers’ premieres), the presentation of new books and new CDs, courses and international competitions for composition, soundtracks composed by Cluster members, art exhibitions and collaborations with educational establishments in the area, creating an intense all-round activity..

Saturday, March 12 at 9 pm, in the Symphony School Auditorium, there’s the opening concert with the Etymos Ensemble whose members are:

Francesco Gatti, flute

Nicola Bimbi, oboe

Tony Capula, clarinet

Simone Rugani, piano

The evening’s program will include works by Olivier Messiaen, Girolamo Deraco (piece dedicated to the Gatti-Rugani Duo), Antonio Agostini (première), James Joshep Ogburn (twinning with the USA), Żaneta Rydzewska (twinning with Poland), and Jules Semler-Collery
